If you are just starting your Precious Metal Clay reference library, or you want to give a good gift to someone that you know who is a PMC artist, my favorite book for new PMC artists is still Working with Precious Metal Clay
by PMC Master Tim McCreight.This is not the newest book on the market, but it is still an excellent resource by someone who pioneered the use of Precious Metal Clay. It is available in hardcover or paperback, although if you are going to use it a lot, the hardcover will hold up better. The link that I have provided above is for the hardcover version, but you can click through to the paperback or spiral version.
This book is a good choice because the explanations are excellent with lots of pictures to help you understand, and Tim McCreight goes over the basics as well as provides projects that anyone can do and feel good about. Here is a sample page from the book.
